Welcome Back! The 2013 season is Here! Another fairly mild winter in Western ND has left the trail in good condition. Dry weather during this 1st week of May will make for great riding if anyone is planning to hit the trails early. Water at the wells are usually in service by mid May. I will try to have an update soon. Trail Maintenance is ongoing by the Forest Service crew but still some "bushwhacking" and "hike a bike" over some slumps around the Bennett Camp sections- 3 miles to the north and south of it. The river crossing is about knee high (or less)- fine to portage bikes across but still not recommended to drive across at the low water crossing on the 712 connecting to the 708 road due, to the soft bottom that replaced the gravel from the flood of 2011. Go to the USGS site "Little Missouri River" for accurate river levels. Lighter vehicles have successfully crossed but large, heavy trucks towing trailers full of gear may sink in the soft clay bottom!
