These are dates we selected, however, we had great success in combining several groups with approval from those scheduling.  "Share the Shuttle" allows you to share the cost of the trailer use, making it more affordable for smaller parties.

*We are happy to announce our first ever "Fully supported 4 day Tour" starting September 12th through the 15th.  We will guide you, prepare and provide breakfast, lunch, dinner, & snacks each day.  With the absence of Western Spirit and Escape Adventures, who have been providing this service for 10 years and 7 years respectively, we felt it time to kick in gear.  We will try our best to emulate their standards but we have pretty large shoes to fill!

We already have 2 riders signed up and are looking at a maximum of 6 riders.  Since this is a 4 day ride instead of 5 days, we are offering this tour for $950 per person.  Camp gear is an additional $125 (sleeping bag, tent & pad) and bike rental is $195 for standard full suspension, or $250 for the premium Maverick bikes, (small & large are still available).  Call Jen's cell 701-220-4108 for details/reservations.

*The proposed 50 mile Maah Daah Hey Stampede race for September 10th weekend has been postponed due to the erosion on the section south of Elkhorn Camp and the lack of time to get everything prepped for it.  The ND Tourism has graciously extended our grant for next year.  We want to do it right!

*Trail updates: The Cottonwood Trail south of Bennett Camp is being worked on this week.  Hopefully we'll be able to ride it by Labor Day Weekend.  Also, the huge landslide north of Elkhorn Ranch site which buried the trail is being re-routed.

*The trail to the river is quite overgrown but rideable.  The swtich back out of the river bottoms fared the rains quite well.

*Elkhorn to the 725 Road rough is still the toughest section of trail-Hey it's the Badlands!

*725 Road to Wannagan is good, and all of Buffalo Gap is a welcomed treat to anyone  who've just ridden the pa

*The NEW MDH Trail:  (south of Medora) Starts at the Bully Pulpit Golf Course Entrance-not Sully Creek.  The first 13 miles are mowed, and the loose gravel placed 2 years ago has packed in nicely.  GREAT Trail!!  You can get a nice 3-4 hour ride by doing a loop returning on East river road.  See "Plumley Draw" shuttle!

The remainder of the trail is complete and Maps available through the Forest Service or buy one at the shop!

An April 30th Blizzard, torrential rain the following weeks, and floods of epic proportion, had created a May we'll not soon forget.  But the Badlands, ever changing with the wind and water, does what it always has and there is no stopping "Mother Nature" when she is in charge.  With that, our beloved Maah Daah Hey Trail has seen some changes, so be prepared for some sections of trail where your cyclocross skills will come in handy!  The Forest Service has had their trail maintenance crews busy and have tackled some areas of the "slumping" or landslides which buried small and not so small sections.

On a positive note with all the rainfall comes the sunshine and the flowers, and this year has been unlike anything we've ever seen.  You'd think we were in Ireland not western ND!  The trails and creek crossings have dried up nicely and the sections of trails which I have ridden have been excellent.  Reports of erosion from north of Elkhorn to Wanagan seems to be the worst which the Forest Service would like to create a weekend for a Volunteer Trail Maintenance session.  I'll keep you posted on our Face Book page.

The Little Missouri River which matched the 1942 Flood level of 20.47 feet is back to it's normal level of around 3.5 feet.  Although low enough for riders to ford,  it is not low enough for us to drive across.  The low water crossing has a 4 foot cut bank and the gravel bottom crossing is mud sediment.  So therefore, if you are using our shuttle service we will need to detour the 3 to 4 hour drive to get your gear/trailer to the Elkhorn Camp from Magpie Camp as well as the additional fee of $150.

The recent article in "Oustide Magazine" has spurred interest from all over the country and our shuttle dates are rapidly filling up but there are still openings available as well as the "Open" Works Shuttle.

The following dates will be offered for the individual interested in sharing the Works Shuttle trailer. This gives the individual the ability to share the shuttle expense with a maximum of up to 8 riders making it more cost effective for all, as well as meeting new people!
